Thermocouple connectors
Thermocouple connectors are ideal connections between components and thermocouple materials. Thermocouple connectors are always used wherever temperatures are measured and tested with thermocouples.
The different housing colors correspond to the color coding of the various national and international standards (DIN IEC 584-3, DIN EN 60584). Thanks to their special design, our thermocouple connectors are reverse polarity protected and can also be used at temperatures of up to +900°C (depending on the model). Since all contacts of our B+B standard connectors are made of thermocouple material, no new thermocouples can form at the connection points.
In addition to our standard connectors (type K - yellow, type J - black, type E - purple, type N - brown (HTK), type J - brown (HTK), type K - green, type N - light pink, type K - brown (HTK), type S, type T, Type R, and Type B), we also offer standard ceramic connectors and matching couplings or coupling sockets.
Since the standard range cannot be used for all applications, we also offer a miniature range. In addition to miniature plugs in all type classes, matching miniature couplings, miniature sockets, miniature coupling sockets, miniature double plugs, miniature double couplings, HTK miniature sockets, and HTK miniature couplings are also available from B+B.
Of course, you can also find the matching accessories in this category.
Molex crimp housing and Molex socket
Crimp contacts for mini-fit pins and jacks for use in Mini-Fit Junior plug and socket housings.
These crimp pin and socket terminals have multiple contact points for a reliable electrical connection and higher current carrying capacity. Locking pins on the crimp contacts ensure a secure connection in the connector housing.
The Lemo series at B+B
The straight, round connectors with cable terminals from Lemo's "S" series feature a self-locking push-pull connector system which ensures a safe and secure fastening and is also resistant to vibration and absorbing impacts. The advantages here are complete EMI shielding with 360° shielding and soldering with plug and socket contacts.
B+B offers a comprehensive range of accessories for the connectors it supplies. From suitable strain reliefs to panel inserts, everything you need for assembling and installing connectors can be found under Connector Accessories. Crimping pliers are required to assemble the crimp sleeves as strain relief. B+B Thermo-Technik also offers matching compensation and thermal cables with different insulation materials for (ambient) temperatures up to 400 °C.
Thermocouple connectors are special electrical connectors that are used to connect thermocouples securely, precisely and without measurement errors to measuring devices, controllers or extension cables. The key difference to normal connectors is that the plug contacts are made of the same metal alloys as the respective thermocouple itself (e.g. type K: chromel/alumel) so that no additional thermoelectric voltage is generated at the plug connection, which would distort the measurement result. Thermocouple connectors are internationally standardised. The two most common standards are DIN EN60584 and ANSI. These standards specify the dimensions and alloys of the contact elements as well as colour coding, depending on the thermocouple type. There are two different designs: standard and miniature connectors. The standard design is robust and suitable for use in industrial plants. The miniature design is more compact and is more suitable for laboratory and test measurement applications.
Our thermocouple connectors can basically be divided into miniature connectors and standard connectors. There are also various couplings that are compatible with miniature or standard plugs.
